Stick and Move

Stick and Move Dance Crew is a team of dancers from the south side of Chicago that specialize in break dancing, martial arts, choreography, acrobatics, improv, comedy, and a slue of other talents. The crew began as a group of determined High school students who joined together to perform at local talent shows and competitions. As the years passed Stick and Move developed a unique chemistry unparalleled by other dance groups, redefining the dance world around them. Since then, Stick and Move as gained public acclaim performing on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, in New Orleans' famed French Quarter, Daytona Beach Florida's Ocean Walk Resort; at events such as the Taste of Chicago, and winning BET's Spring Bling 2005 National Dance Competition. The group has also performed with some many of today's leading artists such as Kanye West, Common, Red Man, Lupe Fiasco, KRS ONE, Guest Love of the Roots, and many more. 
 
Stick and Move has also collaborated with M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap dance Company in  Stars of Dance Chicago 2007, co-creating a piece called "Street Set" involving Hiphop, Tap, Ballet, and Modern dance. Hiphop in it's natural state is a collaboration and melting pot of many art forms, creating a vehicle where they can be expressed together with out boundaries. Stick and Move use these elements to highlight the common thread in humanity that has a strong presence in the cross-cultural practice of what we call Hiphop today. The groups Mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire Humanity through Innovative artistry. Stick and move personifies Real H.i.p.h.o.p., Healthy Independent People Helping Other People, dancing, making this planet a better place to be.
